We got this set of Baseball Guys for our almost 6 year old son for Christmas. He's a huge baseball fanatic, and this toy was perfect for him. He'd been using his superhero guys to play baseball so he was ecstatic to be able to use real baseball guys. The only thing that would make this set better would be to have moveable joints to position the players however he wants them. Star defender 3 game. His 7th birthday was just on Jan 22, and we just had a baseball party at an indoor batting cage, and of course the cake was a baseball diamond with 5 of these baseball guys on top!

Our set came without an umpire,. My son and I tested this out. He really liked that it popped the balls up so he didn't have to throw them up himself. He liked the height of the ball when it popped up. He didn't like that it didn't always pop the ball to the same side so sometimes he had to take a step or two sideways to reach it. But honestly still better than trying to do it himself.

The timing in between balls was just right. I love that the balls don't go more than 90 feet or so even if you really pound them so they stay in the backyard. I wish there was a longer ball shoot so you could load at least 10 at a time but other than that a great practice tool! This is my favorite Mario game, even though I'm not very good at it. It's baseball with the cute characters which appeals to me, as well as to my step-kids (ages 31 & 33) & step-grandkids (ages 4, 8, 12). Attention span: 2 hours. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes the idea of playing ball with cartoon characters from Mario games.

It's cute fun. My competitive 4 year old loses to his 12 year old cousin but doesn't care because he's too busy looking at all the cute cartoons on the ballfield. Obviously, he prefers to play alone so he can win.
